Daily Student Support

Natural Connections Learning Academy uses a private online network to provide daily support to students and their families. Every Monday, mentors send each student a private message within the network that lists their assignments for the week and that provides links to any interactive online lessons. The network is also students' entry point to online grade books through which both online and onsite learners can view their grades and comments and submit work. Likewise, it's a place to post blogs about nature expeditions and to access the mentors' virtual conference rooms. Students and parents may also connect with each other and form friendships via the network. Enrolled students and parents may login by clicking here.

On-going Student Support

NCLA will customize each student's lessons to meet both the academic and personal goals of the student and their family. If students decide to pursue a college education, NCLA's education coordinator will assist the student and family throughout the application process. If students need assistance developing independent living skills, NCLA's mentors will also shape courses in order to provide practice using the skills and will help families navigate the student's work and living situations upon completing the program.

NCLA's parent organization Muse for Life also offers community-building programs and programs in music, music therapy, dance, martial arts, yoga and meditation. These are available throughout adulthood and support the philosophy that guides NCLA. Additionally, Muse for Life offers naturalist certification to adults and provides the training needed to become a future NCLA mentor.
